Bigfoot Trouble Booster
Our flagship boost pedal (NOS Germanium).
The Bigfoot Trouble Booster is a germanium treble booster pedal with some unique modern features for unlocking many more great tones.
How does it sound?
This pedal has 2 settings: the Bright mode is inspired by the vintage Greg Fryer and Dallas Rangemaster treble boosters, capturing the classic Vox AC30 Top Boost and Brian May (Queen) sounds. The Normal mode provides a wealth of fatter overdriven tones inspired by Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), packed full of rich harmonics.
Unique features
Although we still use hand picked NOS germanium transistors, we use negative ground wiring so you can integrate the pedal into modern pedalboards. It also features an invaluable Bright/Normal switch for toggling between the classic treble booster sound and a fuller, fatter tone.
Applications
This is the perfect tool for getting two distinct, very high quality dirty tones from one pedal.
Controls
-Volume pot (top left) sets the output level.
-Bright/Normal switch (top right) toggles between the classic treble booster tone and a natural, full-frequency sound.
-On/off footswitch (bottom right) is available with true bypass or buffered bypass wiring options.
-On/off indicator LED (top middle).
Connections
-Mono 1/4" input and output jack sockets (side-mounted).
-Industry standard 2.1mm centre negative power supply socket (top-mounted).
Power requirements
9vDC power supply or internally fitted PP3 battery. Current draw > 5mA.
Signal chain placement
Connect it first in the chain, directly to the guitar for optimum performance. Do not place it after a buffered effects unit or it will produce an overly bright sound.
